Good atmosphere, went when the European cup was on. Place is split into drinking area & dining area. Good service, friendly waitresses. Beef could be a little more tender. All in all pleasant experience. I would defiantly go again.

After recovering from the initial disappointment that there is neither an organ nor a dragon here I’ve still found the O&G a fairly pleasant spot to meet friends for a quiet afternoon. The service is neither friendly nor rude — they just get the job done! I’ve found the Thai food to be a little bland other than the Tom Yum soup which is nice and spicy! The beer garden is cute and I’ve enjoyed eating out there a few times with friends in the summer months. I’m surprised about the fights that have been mentioned in another review as whenever I’ve been it’s been quiet and relaxed but then I have never been in the evening and I guess you get your lager louts wherever there’s a bar! Shame!

A Jim Thompsons used to be based on this site and the pub has been re-badged as the Organ & Dragon. However, they’ve retained the pub/Thai restaurant combo. My salsa friend Hilary and I decided to give this place a try in out search for pre-salsa food this evening. As we were eating quite early, the place was empty and the service and food arrived quickly. The restaurant has lost some of the quirkiness from the Jim Thompson days when there would be odd decorations everywhere and everything was available for sale — I still have some hanging monkeys in my bedroom from there. There is a good selection of dishes on the nicely printed menus — mostly Thai but with the odd nod to other south east Asian neighbours too. We went with the classic pad thai noodles, beef rendang curry, roast duck fried with vegetables and roti canai. The food arrived promptly and was very tasty, rivalling Mae Ping as the best Thai restaurant in Epsom/Ewell and better than Jim Thompsons. The pad thai was correctly balanced and flavoured and arrived with 4 enormous prawns. The rendang had the necessary depth of flavour and the beef was slow cooked to tender perfection. The roti canai was flaky and just perfect to accompany the rendang curry sauce. To be honest, we were a touch full for dancing at the end of the meal! We’ve already decided to pay a return visit to try more dishes on the menu

LOOKSNICEBUTCLOSERINSPECTIONSAYSSTEERWELLCLEAR The Organ and Dragon felt more like a canteen than a restaurant. We were hearded in and out so fast it felt like a production line. The food was OK but I have had better(fresher) Thai food. A couple of my guests were ill the next day — which could be coincidence. Entertainment was laid on as fighting broke out in the pub area — firstly between 2 women and then their boyfriends obviously felt obliged to do more than hold their coats. It was quite a show for a while until the police were called. Charming. Looking at the other customers, I didnt get the impression that fights were rare. The staff were polite and very quiet — not friendly but I wasn’t expecting that from a Thai restaurant.
