Used to be a great restaurant. New chef can’t cook to save his life.

Me and a couple of cats happened upon this jiving joint one Saturday afternoon and snuck in like thieves in the temple on seeing its quietness compared to the other eating joints in Cheshire Oats. We were quickly shown to a quiet table away from the other patrons where we all decided to have a burger platter each. We only had to wait 50 short minutes, during which time the foxy waitress massaged our egos, suggestively purring that we were her ‘favourites’. When the cuisine arrived we broke bread as much as we had broken the bank on this, shall we say, criminally overpriced piece of garbage. Two burgers the size of my little sister’s baps, seven chips each and vinegar only by request. The Good: VERY friendly staff ;) Good point of pervy passer-by observation Décor was very nice, reminds me of the original Star Trek The Bad: The food The drink The cost The ambience(a guy farted) Overall, highly not recommended. 7 out of 14 stars

A bit of a franchised poorer sister of the original in Chester. The food was palatable enough, and in fact was quite tasty if a little overpriced, however, the restaurant itself is a pretty soulless unit with zero ambiance or charm for an evening meal. Think ‘contemporary works canteen’ and you would be quite close to the mark! The staff were ‘unhurried’ to say the least and had to be asked several times for any kind of service. I nearly always leave a tip but really felt completely unable to do so on this occasion! If you fancy an upgrade from mcdonalds then give it a try. Otherwise avoid!

What a fabulous find for lunch away from the crowds of the food hall. This is a very classy brasserie that is part of a new family of restaurants. The interior had lovely lighting and a very contemporary décor. The starter of home made houmus was delicious and the main course was also fantastic. It was fish cakes and there was lots of fish inside a lovely crispy exterior. I look forward to trying out the sister Red House in Chester soon.
