A fantastic dining experience, with many ‘new’ meal experiences, made all the better because of the friendly and knowledgable staff.

This fantastic little South African restaurant by the Boat Musium in ellesmereport is excellent for those who like somthing alittle different. With excellent Décor and very friendly staff this place is great for parties and small groups but is also not lost on the romantic night out couple, as it caters for all! with a menu that hosest Crocodial, Osterich, Springbock and various other exotic dishies along a host of traditional plates for the more modiest eater… i recommend the taster platter for starter as you get a little bit of everything. a great environment with cracking staff

After consuming some quality chili biltong from Selfridges in the Trafford centre in Manchester we decided on Nandos. Bad idea — the queue stretched back into Saturday night — Manchester for a table. Next bright idea was to try Nandos at Cheshire Oaks. Drove there and were politely told there was a 45 min wait for tables there as well. Plan C– let’s chance it going down the motorway and trying Jabula for a table. As usual they were very accomodating and after a short wait and a drink a table was sorted. Our pleasure this night was the Kingklip and a traditional Pap and Wors with a shared Milk Tart for sweets, absolute nostalgia and fantastic meal. Other dishes reccomended here from previous visits are: Vetkoek /Babotie /Potjie Kos /and the Springbok This restaurant has a South African«Shop» above the dining area — you have to ask them for a visit and they will cater for all your Eat-sum-more to peppermint crisp and cream soda needs! Enjoy a bit of South Africa alongside the Mersey shipping canals in Manchester.

«Mediterranean» is misleading — it’s South African through and through. A warm welcome, an interesting menu full of exotica — crocodile, ostrich, springbok(delicious), «monkey gland sauce»(didn’t) try it. Well worth another visit. My travelling companion is going back this evening.

My wife and love this restaurant. The staff are friendly and couteous, the food is excellent. It’s nice to have a menu with unusual dishes(crocodile, ostrich, etc). The situation is very pleasant, and where else can you eat lunch and have a super tanker pass by your window???

Without a doubt the tastiest restaurant in Ellesmere Port. Its tiny, so you’ll need to book early, especially on a weekend. They have a fabulous range of South African food but also cater for vegetarians with a fantastic vegetable potjie. The protions are enormous and the deserts are out of this world. Peri peri chicken comes higly recommended. Be warned though, if its your birthday then happy birthday will be sung twice in both English and Africaans and after that you’ll get the opportunity to try a few grubs with a birthday shot. The staff are bubbly, happy, fiendly and extremley helpful and the décor is superb.

From our arrival to our departure we felt at ease, happy and entertained, The wonderful staff were very courteous and helpful, especially with our inexperience with some of the exotic items on the menu! We were enlightened and delighted, not knowing what to expect we asked advice on choices and were happy with the advice given, but they do tend to try to make you experience something you’ve never had. so be warned if you don’t like the alligator. The starter of soup was very tasty, homemade with fresh warm bread and salad. The main meal was well presented beautifully cooked to perfection with side dishes served as requested. I would recommend you try their specialist meals for a very unusual treat. Perfect views onto the water and if you get the right seats over the Mersey to Liverpool.
