Ben Sherman is as popular today as it was in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s. The company was founded in London in 1965 by Arthur Bernard Sugarman. Sugarman created the Ben Sherman tailored shirts in response to a huge demand for imported shirts as many people saw upcoming jazz artists wearing them. Shortly after Sugarman replicated these shirts, they were one of London’s must wears within the MOD subculture, instantly becoming a cult classic.
Some Ben Sherman items hold the signature Royal Air force icon, which can also be seen on Who memorabilia and has fast become a cult symbol for counterculture and fashion.
