Tippi

I’m fairly sure there is an alternate reality where I own everything in this store.
I also have a monkey butler. And a unicorn in a paddock out back. Because, when you’re wishful thinking, you might as well go the whole nine yards.
Unfortunately, in my current reality, much of this little treasure chest doesn’t fall within budget but oh to dream! This is a wonderful little shop of quirk. The carry some truly stunning pieces of antique furniture alongside some truly stunning pieces of just plain ol’ weird. It’s eclectic, it’s jumbled, it’s basically my spirit animal in store form.
Within five minutes, I had my eye on an antique compass, a tea set and a little writing desk. That’s a lot of dough theoretically spent — well done Tippi. I would agree with Sharon, that some of the prices are a bit over the top, which is why this doesn’t tip the five star scale but others are definitely on point. The large vintage compass was £85 and after some hunting online, that seems pretty par for the course.
I will definitely be back to poke around when I have some disposable income in the pocket. Until then, someone buy the compass and let me live vicariously through your Unilocal pictures… deal?

Tippi is a lovely and brilliant shop full of awesome and interesting pieces of furniture/​glass/​bits and bobs ranging several centuries.
I was in recently looking for a piece of furniture for my kitchen, but I think I hadn’t quite appreciated that the shop space is really quite small so tends more towards smaller items. On an off change I described what I was looking for and Anna (the owner) whipped out her phone to show me a fabulous piece she keeps in storage. Silly me, it hadn’t even occurred to me that she would have a storage space full of stuff waiting for people like me to bumble along and ask.
So, that’s my number one tip — ask! You never know what fabulous treasures will be tucked away, and I’d expect that if she didn’t have just what you wanted, she would make an effort to source it for you.
