The terrace café is set up as a cafeteria just as Catriona C says. Cakes are alright but nothing wow. I had earl grey tea and pretty basic. I’m wishing they did something with the ingredients and jazz it up a bit. I’m pretty sure they could make something special out of it rather than run of the mill especially in such a beautiful setting. The lighting could somehow be fixed as it just feels unbalanced. Busy times this place can get congested especially with mums and kids so it can get noisy as found on previous visits.

Terrace Café was our haven for food after a fail at the Gateway. Unlike the Gateway, which is waiter service, Terrace café is more cafeteria, although prices do not necessarily reflect it. Fifteen quid got us two drinks, two sandwiches and two cakes. The sandwich was better than I have had at similar venues(roasted vegetable and houmus), cakes were alright but nothing to write home about. Still, it worked ok as we were in need, but it also reminds us that really when going to such places, it is much better to bring a picnic!
