Sainsbury’s

I feel oddly guilty for liking this Sainsbury’s… but that’s not uncommon, I feel oddly guilty any time I like a big box (save for Target… which, when you think about it, is some pretty brilliant marketing). I didn’t know this was here, let alone how GIANT it is. Up until today, I’ve only been in little Sainsburys shops so I had no idea they carried house wares, clothing and the like. I generally base a first impression on 1. the service and 2. how quickly I find something I want to purchase.
The first one in that short list would be batting at one star, because for all of my wandering around, I didn’t actually see anyone who worked there, which was a little frustrating when trying to track down a specific (I was hunting for a new toaster).
However, number two on that list takes five stars as this place currently hosts a mixer, a toaster (I eventually found it), a knife set and a bunch of mugs I want… and I just made it through the kitchen section. It also has some Primark-​esque clothing that looks half decently cute and is a great price — I call these «cat clothes» — things to wear around the house that I don’t mind getting covered in cat hair but look like a human when I have to run out for coffee. I HATE going to Primark, but up until today, they were my only solid go-​to for cat clothing… so i’m fairly happy about that find.
All in all, it’s giant, the service is kind of crappy, the lighting is scary but as big box stores go, it’s on the better end of the spectrum.

This is the best Sainsburys and supermarket in Edinburgh by far, good parking, good selection of stuff and well set out! At non peak hours it makes very relaxing food shopping!

I find the store in comparison to Tesco’s a very poor quality supermarket. I have been the victim of having been short changed there once not so long ago and was then subjected to being accused of lying but upon being vindicated the only apology given was by way of a £10 gift voucher. Some of the staff could do with learning manners or perhaps avoiding working in the retail industry! If it was not for the close proximity to my home I would never use this shop.

Good basic supermarket for everyday shopping. The size is large enough that they stock most things that you could require. Not so huge that it becomes overwhelming and the car park is big enough to make it easy enough to park most times. Good fish counter and bakery. Also stocks the Sainsbury clothing ranges for children and adults. Clean and pleasant.

Sainsburys is where I do my main food shopping. The fruit and veg is always lovely and fresh and crispy. There is a good selection of food for people with food intolerances. The store is always very well stocked and well laid out. There is a clothing range, which is really well priced.
The car park is quite big and you will always find a space. Remember to take your £1 if you want to use a trolley.
The staff are helpful and get you through the checkout quickly. It is nice to see that Sainsburys are an equal opportunities employer.

As Sainsburys go, this is one of the better ones in edinburgh. There is generally plenty of parking and it’s generally not too busy (except on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, but I suppose you can’t complain!).
The foods generally of an Ok quality, the only real issue is expiry dates can be short.

This is an excellent place to shop. There is plenty of car parking. The goods are reasonably priced. The shop is clean, the staff helpful and there are never any delinquents hanging around outside. I would always recommend shopping here over other nearby outlets as there are ALWAYS plenty staff on the tills and I have never had any more than three in front of me. This really is the place to shop if you dont like standing in queues.
