If you’re around Waverley station and need to grab some food, this Sainsbury is pretty good. It’s small and have limited selection but sufficient enough if you don’t feel like going to the bigger one on Rose St.
They sell all the typical refrigerated food such as salad, butter, cheese, uncool meat, fish, ham, desserts, milk, and juice. You can also buy pre made food such as sandwiches and salads. Other stuff you can buy are bread, crisps, cereal, frozen food like pizza and ice cream as well as some bathroom supplies.
This place is really set for convenience and I usually come here after the gym if I need something to nibble on if I need milk or juice. It closes at 22.00 so that’s helpful and there’s a cash machine next to it.

This is a nice Sainsbury’s Local that is inside Princes Mall.
I stop in here on occasion when I am on the way back from Princes Street or St. James Centre shopping, mainly because I cut through Waverley Station on my way back home. This location is new, clean, and the staff is nice.
There is nothing too special about this location other than the fact that it is a small store that still manages to have four self-checkout lanes and a cash machine. Also, it is worth nothing that even though the food court at Princes Mall closes around 7 pm, this store remains open with its own entrance until much later.
The prices are on par with other Sainsbury’s in the area. However, the location of this one is quite convenient if you are coming from or to Waverley Station, transiting through Princes Mall, or just looking for a Sainsbury’s in between South Bridge and New Town.
Overall a nice little store in a good location.
