Redwood

This is a delightful wee restaurant in Stockbridge — see if you can find it! Blink and before you know it you’ve walked past it :-) I think I did that twice before I found it the first time I visited.
Anyway I’ve been there several times and the food has been delicious but there is no point in me going over what I ate as it will most probably not be on the menu anymore as it changes every two weeks! Not very fair :-)
Whenever I’ve been there it is always a choice out of 3 dishes for each course. For the starters and mains the choices are between fish, vegetarian and meat/​poultry. Dead simple. As said the menu changes every 2 weeks and gets posted on their website — for something a bit different take a look at it. None of the boring stuff you find repeated in restaurants throughout Edinburgh. Two courses are £22.95, and three are £26.95.
The place is located in a basement and it is a small area (20 or so covers) so be prepared to be in a cosy wee place. The music played seems to cover some classics ranging from Etta James thru to Bill Withers. The wine/​beer list is pretty short but what they do have all tastes great and is reasonably priced. The service is very friendly/​relaxed and the place seems to cater for both casual dinning and the more formal dinning.
