Ramsay Cornish Auctioneers & Valuers

I’m a huge fan of Ramsay Cornish. I was introduced to this place by a couple of friends when I was drawn to various beautiful items of furniture in their flat — which they acquired for hardly anything. It was a weird step to begin with, totally green, going to their auctions, with various pre-​conceived notions and daytime TV associations.
But… imagine a sort-​of second-​hand/​curio/​charity shop, which replaces the bulk of its stock every week and has live bidding on every item. Then you’ll get the picture. If you’re in need of tables, chairs, wardrobes, chest of drawers, piano, chaise lounges, paintings, engravings, silver, (occasionally) a whole fitted kitchen and just random bizarre stuff, this is a brilliant way to spend a Saturday morning.
There’s a sale most Saturdays, at 11am. Doors open from 9ish and the catalogue is posted on their website ahead of the sale.
Random characters, interested stuff, a witty auctioneer, and … bargains!
