Best place for a hot thing in a roll this side of Edinburgh. Square sausage, long sausage, tatie scones etc etc are found here in abundance. They are the best thing in the world if you are having an epic hangover or need the food of gods to get through the hard day ahead. (Or you have a job centre appointment, shudder)
There is a couple of wee tables to sit at if you wish, but you inevitably end up getting takeaway.
The staff who work here are always upbeat and remember your face every time which I find has solidified my loyalty to this place.
I kind of didn’t want to tell you about Preachers so I can keep it all for myself. (So you should totally go, and soon)

I never knew Preacher’s existed until recently. I started taking a new route to work and I noticed the best look scone window display. About 30 fruit scones just saying «hey shona, I know you want to eat me! yeah it’s friday, treat yo’self to a scone». SO yeah, one day, I treated myself and OMG it was the best scone ever. So fresh, a great consistency, not too big, not too small = amazeballs. There seems to be the same guy working the till each time I go. He’s friendly. Lots of workies also visit in the morning and purchase rolls. I have yet to try a roll but I know they use Stornaway blackpudding — so that’s a thumbs up from me! Oh yeah it’s 70p per scone and 80p with butter (and they use real butter!!)

Tasty, good honest food. nice service and large choice, i went here based on the other comments and was not disappointed. Biggest breakfast roll in the world as per the picture. top notch!

The best scones in Scotland, and the best baker in Scotland. I’ve lived in all the cites in Scotland and never found a baker as good as this one. Greggs can only dream about baking food this good. Also does hot rolls and coffee etc.

Preachers is a nice roll, sandwich and cake shop. Sometimes we venture there at lunchtime for a haggis roll, which are the best! The coffee is nice, especially with one of the brilliant caramel shortcakes. Cheaper places available nearby but this has a high standard of quality. Nice staff aswell.

Great homecooking served in a friendly atmosphere. All day breakfasts served until 12.00. Try the dayak fruit cake or the paridoxical pie. Delicious.
