Optical Express

My experience here was of a very quick and, in my opinion, poor quality eye exam and a over-​priced poor quality pair of glasses. Upon going to someone else I was given a completely different perscription (which I COULD see with).
I’ve been told the staff here ARE on commission. The more they sell you the more they get paid.
You are much better off going to an independent optician. The staff there aren’t likely to be on commission and the optician wants to do a good job because their livliehood depends on you coming back. The optician in a chain like this does not care if you come back or not, they get paid the same either way.
I was just not impressed. And their prices weren’t any good either. Sure they have a few really cheap frames for their «deals» but these were very poor quality.
Overall a very poor experience.

I have visited this store many times and have always been pleased with the level of patient care offered.
The staff are knowledgable about the various options open to you and are realistic when it comes to offering extras, such as tints and coatings. A firm ‘no thanks’ is all that’s needed. I’ve never had the hard sell in here.
There is a large selection of frames to choose from, all at reasonable prices. The examination rooms are functional and well equipped.
The lab staff (Jason and Davie) are fantastic. They will happily perform small repairs or adjustments with the minimum of fuss. They routinely go out of their way to be helpful and are both cheery, smiley guys. I’ve been very impressed by both of them over the years.
