This place is a restaurant of the chain pub variety. It’s okay for that. The food is nothing to write home about. It does, however, have an indoor soft play that is cheap and large, though it is dark inside. It’s a good place for a rainy afternoon in which you drink some generic cider and your kid wears him or herself out. There are certainly nicer restaurants nearby but the soft play is kind of a secret bargain.

i love this place and all thats inside. its a family place kids are made to feel welcome and always leave with big smiles. as u enter ur greeted by someone who shows u to ur seat. u then order ur food at till n pay. then ur food will be brought to table. Childrens menus has a great choices and a great deal too. The kids love the ice cream factory and being able to choose their own sweets ro go on top. There is a really good adults menu with affordable prices for good qaulity/filling food. the restraunt is all on one level which is great. There is a part of that child free Zone but is small compared to where the kids can actually play. the soft play area is fantastic and is not very expensive. christmas dinner is usually abuffet with a very large amount to choose from, however better to book at an early time, as seats fill up quick.

Not the widest ranging menu but in typical Brewster’s style — you know what your going to get and the standard in which you will receive it. Reasonably priced and a separate kids menu which I personally feel is rather overpriced for what it is. The soft play is like a kids mecca although I usually end up rather irrate as in my opinion they often let in kids who are too old/tall and invariably they get quite rough… I feel it needs supervised a bit better.

Brewsters is very much a family oriented restaurant. They have a very large soft play area for the kids, which is supervised by staff. The menu is nothing fancy but nice nonetheless. Their childrens menu is very good, there is wide selection of meals. The price is reasonable, the staff friendly and the restaurant itself is clean and comfortable. Overall, this is a good place to take the kids, but probably best avoided if you don’t have any with you!

This Brewsters Inn is known locally as Newhaven Quay and is attached to a Premier Inn hotel. It is located in the Newhaven part of town but is easily reached on foot from the Trinity and Leith parts of town in the north of Edinburgh. The pub has a small car park and as you enter you will find a small bar area beside the bar itself. The vast majority of the establishment however is taken over with seating for diners. This place is aimed fairly and squarely at families and if you visit on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon that will become abundantly clear to you. It is a very child friendly place, with a soft play area for children under the age of about 10. Children have to be measured to see if they are small enough to go into the play area and the staff are quite strict about adhering to this policy. My daughter has spent many a Sunday afternoon playing in here after lunch and loves the ball pits and climbing up high on the huge play structure. There is a smaller baby play area for younger children too, to separate them from more boisterous, bigger kids. The pub has a good menu for adults which tends to cover anything you would want to eat. Prices are fair too — you can have a Sunday lunch for about £8 for example. There is also a good kids’ menu which I highly recommend for your brood. The only downside about this place is the fact service can be slow. The bar seems to be permanently understaffed and you have to note your table number and place your order at the dedicated till area. At busy times its not unheard of to wait over 30 minutes for food. However if you are searching for a family friendly pub in north Edinburgh, this is undoubtedly the best one in the area.

As with all Brewer’s Fayre branded pubs, this is a very family orientated place. Absolutely perfect if you have young children — for the price of less than a pint(around two our our British pounds), you get to throw your child into the indoor play area and lose them for a while(ok, so not literally ‘throw them’). The indoor play area is absolutely superbbe warned of staff walking around wearing ridiculously brightly coloured clown-looking costumes however — they really couldn’t pay me enough to work there and wear that. But there’s face painting going on, ball pools, arcade style games, small rides and a huge climbing area with rope ladders and all kinds. The play area is sectioned into two areas, therefore is suitable for younger children of toddler age and for older children too. All children are given bibs to wear on signing in — the idea being, if they’re to try and escape, the electronic tags set off an alarm when they’re running out the door of the pub. Genius, eh? The pub itself is divided into three distinct areasthe bar area(a child free zone), a restaurant style area, and a restaurant style area alongside the ‘Fun Factory’ so that parents can keep an eye on their little ‘uns — there’s tv screens showing CCTV images of the play area in this section. The food? Well, the least said about this the better, I think. It’s most likely microwaved, uninspired and in the ready-meal format. I’ve never been all that impressed with the food in there yet. However the menu is pretty extensive and caters very well for children with plenty of meal deals. You’d never really go to Brewsters for the food. You’ll go there to give your kids a treat, so they can run around like crazy and burn off some energy in the Fun Factory, while you enjoy a drink and yeshave lunch or dinner on the side. I never quite understand why child-free folk would go into Brewsters just for a drink. I mean, they do. But the food is mediocre, the bar area is ‘ok’, and there are children running around continually(at least until about 9pm). And there are nicer pubs around in Newhaven anyway. However, if you have children, Brewsters is definitely a hit. Children’s parties are very popular here, and the place is always heaving on a bank holiday. Take your kids along and they’ll love it. But personally I’d give this place a wide berth when you’ve got a babysitter!

Just had my daughters birthday here. All the kids loved it. With an hour in fun factory with things like slides, ball pool, soft play and lots of lots of climbing, children can run themselves ragged. Then half an hour tucking into a buffet feast and drink, followed by a visit to the Ice Cream Factory, where the kids can go wild with the ice cream and sprinkle toppings. Brewster Bear will pay a visit, my daughter is frightened of the bear so i asked them if we could skip that part and the staff were really good and happy to miss this bit out.(There’s nothing worse than an upset birthday girl). Groups of eight or more are supplied with a birthday cake, and all children receive a balloon and party bag(the birthday boy/girl also gets a birthday card and photo of them and Brewster Bear). Its well staffed but a little disorganised and hectic(but hey what kids party arn’t). You can also have a meal here in the resaurant which is sectioned off from the kids area and is nice and peacefull. With lovely food you can sit inside or outside looking onto the harbour and the boats. Its really very lovely.
