Muirhouse Library

In my personal opinion, I enjoy the library. It's an amazing space to get work done and has good access to computers and books.

However, more often than not there are disturbances through-out the day, especially once the schools are let out. Both high school and primary school kids come to the library, start shouting, come into work spaces, disturb the locals and overall make an unwanted experience. I've personally witnessed people crawling under desks, trying to push chairs down the stairs, swearing and insulting random library users, mess around in the elevators and used the speaker which goes through the entire building to say swear words.

Apart from that however, I love this library when it is quiet during schools hours and during the evening time. My props go out to the hard working staff who try to make this a quiet and calm place to come and read or get work done. Would recommend if you enjoy the hours after school.

Overall, the library is great, borrowing books and access to computers, with some great study places upstairs that are fully accessible, even with a lift if needed. Personally I stay upstairs, the computers are slow but generally okay to use, charging spaces for laptops are available, and a table for group activity.

However, you get alot of young people coming in. Screaming and causing a fuss downstairs, which sometimes finds its way upstairs. Usually its an okay place to get work done but in afternoon times its like a loud, chaotic school fight happens, times I would stay far away from.

I appreciate the effort that staff members put in considering the behaviours they are forced to put up with.
