It strikes me that Mennato’s is a little unloved and/or overlooked, which is probably supported by the fact that no-one has reviewed it on here since 2010. Their lunch deal, offering three courses for £7.95, is really pretty good, so it’s definitely worthy of a visit. Overall, we said: «Mennato’s served me two tasty courses, and pretty decent coffee in lieu of dessert, for a very affordable price. It could use a little spruce up, at some stage, but otherwise it continues to do a fine job 20 years after it first opened its doors. I look forward to visiting again.»

This bistro appears to be Mamma Roma’s less serious little sibling! Situated right next to Ristorante Mamma Roma, the menu is a little lighter and better suited for a casual lunch or dinner. Breakfast, burgers and toasties are on offer as well as hot and cold baguettes with delicious fillings and salads. They’re hardly any meals over £10 and if you’re feeling for a heavier meal, there are proper main dishes on the menu as well, such as pasta, meat and chicken. Sadly, they’re only opening four and a half hours a day so one’s got to pay more attention to the time here.
