Lloyds Wetherspoons is located in the Omni complex, Leith Street. Sorry, but I am not a fan! It is a modern totally characterless chain pub. Due to the comparatively cheap drinks, it always seems to be rammed full. It does serve food, but I have never tried it. Lloyds is popular with groups of younger drinkers, which I definitely am not! Not my sort of place at all.

Only asked to not have ice in my Drink, the person serving me went to her manager, he responded with something whilst giving me the worst stare ever, she replied«yea I know» I naturally commented with«if he has something to say he can say it to me» Nothing happened, got my food served to me from the manager himself, for him to come up to me and call me out in front of my friend, stating«I know what you said to my colleague» I replied«what? that I wasn’t happy with you giving me crap over asking for no ice?» I was surprised at this unprofessional approach to customer service and this attempt at an intimidation practice, shocking… On top of all that, the breakfast is horribly processed, and they don’t even clean their tables. These chain super pubs are becoming increasingly unregulated in regards to service and food overall.

Okay, so I had 40 minutes to kill before a movie and I was hungry so I decided to check this place out. It was not too busy and I found a table very quickly. The prices on the menu were very reasonable, but due to my braces I had to go for something soft and chose Garfield’s favorite dish — lasagne. I intended to get a side order of chips but the dude at the bar insisted I would save money if the salad was changed to chips as part of the dish. For an extra £1 I could have got an alcoholic drink to go with it but they were all beers and lagers, which are disgusting to me. I went for a J20. The staff were very insistent on it only taking 10 minutes. Less than this amount of time later my lasange arrived on a very large and hideous dish. It looked… okay. I expected it to be in a separate pot, but it wasn’t. It was of a decent temperature but quickly got cold. I suspect that this was actually just a Lidl lasagne quickly warmed in a microwave before being splatted onto the plate. The chips were very nice. The staff member I spoke to, Elaine, was very apologetic, but I wasn’t too bothered. I just won’t order lasagne next time. The table was not cleaned before I sat down, which is my biggest complaint.

1. Poor food, badly cooked 2. Table with left over crumbs from prior customers. 3. General atmosphere not really nice. Money spent not enjoyed.

Perfect for grabbing a bite on your way in, or out, of the movies. It is super busy, but quick and the price is right.

I’m not too proud to admit that I’ve frequented Lloyd’s Weatherspoons bar at the Omni Centre on more than one occasion. In fact, it is our usual spot to meet at the start of a night out in town to get the cheap drinks in before heading into town and paying double or more. OK, I’m not going to lie to you — avoid the food at all costs because it used to be barely edible until it became completely inedible. It may be cheap but it ain’t worth it. Keep your money for McDonalds or a fish supper later on in the night. I’d avoid this bar on Friday and Saturdays as it is rammed pack with people getting the cheap drinks in. You don’t need to watch Eastenders though, save money on your TV license and just go here as you’re sure to get entertained by the clientele!!! If it is shots you’re after then head here for half an hour before going on somewhere more classy which lets face it wouldn’t be hard to find!!! Leave your designer gear at home, down your trackies, sit back and be entertained by the other customers:) Always a laugh and you’re guaranteed to leave with a few stories!!!

It’s a Wetherspoons bar. What more can you say? It’s cheap therefore quite busy. Not a «night out» type of bar but more of a meeting place or a cheap beer before moving onto somewhere nice.

Although you pretty much know exactly what you’re in for when you go to any Wetherspoons, and although this particular one is slightly better presented than others and is situated in quite a trendy part of town(right inside the Omni Centre, just a stone’s throw away from the rather upmarket George Street), there’s still something about this place that doesn’t sit quite right with me. Maybe it’s just that it somehow seems a bit off for a Wetherspoons to be trying to pass itself off as trendy. I don’t know. What I do know is that you would be as well going to the Wetherspoons(es?) on George Street or down in Leith. These are exactly the same, except better and with more character than this particular one.

The first time I went there, myself and 2 of my friends had there ID. My other friend who is 10 years older than us didn’t but got told he wasn’t allowed to come in! Ridiculous!!! However, the last time I was there I enjoyed it. My drink was served with a slice of lime(which I usually have to ask for) in my Bulleitt. And it’s the first time I’ve asked for that drink without the bar person going EH what’s that! And I have to say the bar looks so appealing, very well designed!

Lloyds is often very busy which puts me off going there, but I recently went with some colleagues and we got a table just outside where the main door is. We went up to the bar but while we were waiting the bouncer lady came up and asked for ID, I showed her my passport and she used some kind of light on it! Just after that we got served and I was asked for ID again, which I found pretty annoying! Despite that, it’s an ok place to start your evening. I had a vodka and diet Irn Bru which was just over £3.

lively bar. usual wetherspoons value for money. can be a bit lighter on real ales than other wetherspoons, but is a good place to go is you want a bit of atmosphere. a pub to visit on the way to or from somewhere rather than a stay all night place

Good food at an affordable price Recently visited with my family but my dad didn’t feel the plaice was cooked correctly and it was a bit wet which put him off. Everybody else enjoyed their food though.

Good place to go as a group, plenty of space — seating outside too. Regular offers on food and drinks. central location so it’s perfect to meet before heading into town.

This is part of the Lloyds chain. it is situated just when you go into the centre. It is a great place to meet up with friends for a drink and something to eat. The food is fairly resonable and very nice, and the drink is very cheap. There are lots of promotions on during the week with the drink also. And they have set nights for curry nights, steak nights and your sunday roast.

This as the name suggests, is part of the Lloyds chain. It has the simple, classic décor that can be expected of Lloyds and the usual menu which does its job. This isnt a bar for a quiet drink in town. Its open plan and always packed full of people. Id suggest its the place to go for a quick drink after work or a bargain deal at the start of a night out. You wont get a seat past 6pm. There are some tables outside when its sunny that look like a lovely spot but they are never free! A busy pub generally shows that somebody is doing something right and really there isnt much to fault here. However I like to grab a table, chat with friends and just relax and this place really is too much of a party scene for that. It is however a great central location for meeting up with friends and is easy to spot for those not familiar with the city.

LLoyds is really nice pub, a bit busy on saturday night. The food is really good and the cocktails are nice. During the summer you can sit outside and enjoy the day drinking a nice cold beer with a plate of tortilla with your friends.

In the run up to Christmas the Omni Centre is at its best, with Christmas parties, Staff dos and mates’ nights out, and Lloyds Bar has all the features that make it a worthwhile place to stop for a drink. The location couldn’t be better, as a starting point for a night out or somewhere to gather your mates, but you might find it hard to leave after a couple of drinks. The booze is well priced for a city centre bar, and the food is really good value for money, just remember to go early in the day to avoid the drunken crowds that take over at the weekends if its the food you’re going for. If you get a window seat you can watch the world go by, be endlessly entertained and slightly smug at being indoors, dry and cosy whilst all the 9−5ers walk home in the rain after their shifts. After getting suitably tipsy you can move on to Mood or Jongleurs, both within the Omni Centre, take a short walk into town, or just stay put, enjoy the cheap drinks and watch the night come to life. The staff are efficient, the food portions are decent and well priced– it is cheap and cheerful.

This is the place to go for a treat and a meal to remember. A menu symathetic to scottish traditions, but with a contemporary twist, you won’t be disappointed. I say it is a good place to go for a treat, as your wallet will feel it, however BYOB does help this. After your meal, you can saunter upstairs to Teuchters bar to round the evening off perfectly.

This has quite a modern décor. The tables are quite large so can get quite a few people round them. The staff are fast at serving here and the prices are quite reasonable. This is a great bar to pop into if you are going on a pub crawl, a stop in between george st/rose st and leith walk.

This restaurant is under Tuechters bar in the west end. They have a great Scottish menu, with a variety of fresh Scottish produce, prepared with local flair. The atmosphere is Scottish through and through, the fare teases the palate and the service friendly. The addition of the ability to BYO drinks helps make it a good night. This is usually my venue of choice for farewell meals for visitors from overseas.
