I hated the Goths and emos who swarm all over the place, they stopped me from enjoying my popcorn chicken and fries. They also dont serve a free refill like in subway next door.

This review is for the KFC located in Princes Mall, across from the new Sainsbury’s. My first few months in Edinburgh were spent living near Princes Mall so a few times a week I would stop in for chicken here. Although there is another KFC location close by on Princes Street, I found this location to be much better. In general, the service is faster and the food is fresher. Also, the lobby is always being cleaned. Every time I have stopped in there someone is cleaning or wiping something. The free wifi is great as well, easy to connect to and pretty fast as well. The staff has not changed much since September, which tells me that management must do a good job at keeping their employees at least somewhat happy. They are fast with orders and have never gotten my order wrong. The only downside to this KFC is that during the early afternoons, it becomes a hang out spot for local teenagers out of school. Of course it is, it is located in a mall. But other than some increased noise, it isn’t that big of a deal. I was surprised to see that a mall KFC was better than the one on Nicolson or Princes street, but it is. No doubt about it. I’ve walked to this one before just because I know my boneless dips will be fresher than the KFC on Nicolson Street. For a takeaway spot, this KFC is a good choice.

This is surely the worst kFC in Edinburgh, possibly the world! We ordered the bargain bucket to share and when my twelve year old bit into one of the pieces she found it to be red raw. We took it back and asked the asian manager for a refund which he denied SHOUTING that the chicken was SUPPOSEDTOBETHATWAY– making my child cry. We left. Went to Burger King down in the station and thankfully saved our day, napkins helping to wipe up aforementioned childs tears!
