A great place for a whiskey tasting, particularly for those who aren’t experts on the subject. I enjoyed a nice tasting of scotch from the various regions and was expertly guided by Hector who provided both a history of scotch and a deep level of knowledge. It’s clear the staff is passionate without being pretentious. I would highly recommend a stop on a visit to Edinburgh as it’s an excellent experience at a nice value.

There is no shortage of whiskey tastings in Edinburgh but the enthusiastic people here and the rare whiskeys they source make this by far the most fun, delightful, and educational. Simply fantastic. Don’t think twice — just go.

This is probably as good as whisky tasting experience can go. We’ve been there twice with a friend during our visit to Scotland and we were both amazed with the knowledge and the passion of the staff working there. Asia and Hector made our tastings really a special treat, with a personal touch and customized selection of the «water of life».
The whisky selection is very wide, especially if you are looking for something extra unique, e.g. limited edition bottles or festival editions. Walk-​in humidor made my day as the cigars selection is also beyond the average. Not to mention the choice of tobacco.
It is now a must-​visit place on my list whenever I’ll be back in Edinburgh and it should be on yours too!

The amount of knowledge we gain was astonishing. Owners were able to answer every single question and their suggestion for whisky tasting selection was stunning.
It is super recommended for everyone!
Must see if you are visiting Edinburgh (just the best attraction there).

I absolutely can’t say enough about this wonderful place and its owners. Hector and his partner Lorna were an incredible wealth of knowledge and unpretentious advice. We took advantage of their VERY reasonably priced tasting menu and enjoyed the «Regional Tasting», which serves as a great intro to the varied nature of whiskies based upon the area in which they are distilled. This also included a fascinating discussion on the history of distillation & whisky itself, as well as in depth info on how the varied flavored are achieved.
Whether you already love whiskey or just want to dip your toe in in a comfortable setting without feeling foolish for a lack of knowledge, this shop can’t be missed.
P. S. The cigar selection proved interesting for my husband as well, definitely worth a look!

Great, friendly service and a large choice. I had a lot of questions before my first proper Cuban cigar :) all have been answered and I feel much more confident when deciding on which one to buy. Looking forward to complementing my purchase with a nice single malt.

Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable staff combined with a spacious and bright shop make for a very pleasant shopping experience… you don’t feel under any pressure to buy if you just want to browse.
Neat modern display cabinets and shelving, with a large walk-​in humidor that’s very well stocked. Great selection of pipe tobacco and a nice range of pipes to tempt you to spend money.
Unfortunately, when I visited, there were no whiskies on display but hopefully that should change soon.
