I attended a Unilocal event here about 2 months ago(I know, I’ve been slow) and had such a fantastic time. The beer goes without saying, and the combination with the chocolates from Edward & Irwin were fab, the hostesses delightful, and the company truly a joy to be around. Innis & Gunn take their neighbourhood address seriously; the décor is well thought out, right down to the company branded wallpaper throughout. It smacks of luxury, which only helps the beer go down all the better. Through the chocolate/beer tasting, I also had the opportunity to try a couple of the offerings that I hadn’t before — the wheatbeer with bergamot was a revelation. As they say, I had the most wonderful time and if you ever have the opportunity to go, make sure you do.

I adore these folks! I fangirled the first time I found myself standing in Innis & Gunn HQ. Back home in Canada, this is one of THE biggest, most badassest(it’s a word!) players in the beer game, so having the HQ here in the city was another tick on the«why Edinburgh is amazing» list. Now, full disclosure: I’ve done a series of promotional tastings with these folks. Full disclosure, the sequel: I would do a million more. They are some of the most polished and professional folks to work with. Claire M knows her sh*t — she is a wizard with a crowd, knowledgable without seeming snobby and completely comfortable & genuine with what she does. I’ve worked with her on a beer + cheese and a beer + chocolate tasting and they were brilliant little events(perfect for a corporate gig or holiday party). I now keep my eyes open for other tasting that pop up here, so I can attend without my business cap on. Great beer. Great events. Well worth stalking on social media. Mad love for these folks.

I had *the best* time here last night at the beer and chocolate pairing workshop. It was truly a dream! I had never tried Edward and Irwyn chocolates before and I am officially amazed, I can’t wait to show up to their shop on a Saturday very soon. I already knew I loved Innis and Gunn and I’ve tried every single variety I could get my hands on but last night I even got to try TWO more I’d never had before and it was amazing. Claire was awesome at leading the workshop and I learned so many great Innis and Gunn factoids. Thanks so much!

I visited the HQ of Innis & Gunn as part of a Unilocal Event and we were treated to a bottle of one of the I&G Range which was great to try the Irish Whiskey infused version and I can heartily recommend it. We then went on to a tutored tasting of three of the rage of Innis & Gunn beers accompanied by cheeses from Mellis. Claire the host for the evening was extremely knowledgable of the beers in the range and made the evening an entertaining and educational one in equal measure. The tasting sessions are available for groups of 4 to 32 and would make a good introduction to people who may not have tried the Innis and Gunn range and enjoy it in the fine surroundings of the Randolph Crescent Town House.

I’m not a huge beer fan but these guys have converted me. I had the opportuntity to taste a great selection of their brews and if I can say I’m a firm fan of the Scottish Pale Ale, the Olorosso finish(it’s been finished in a Sherry Cask) and the Rum finish. I can’t believe that the majority of their stock escapes our shores to the Canadian market, poor show Scots. I’m sure as more folk get to try and love their beers the Scottish market share will increase(though Canadians do have geographical size on their side to be fair).

I been on many beer tastings and have had the pleasure of drinking a(unreleased) Sherry Cask version of Innis & Gunn — besides their Oak Aged classic, Bitter & Twisted and Rum Cask varieties they have several ales(below 5%) and beers(above 5%) which are damn tasty! They have several more(exclusive) varieties like Spicy Rum and Irish Whiskey and you’d be hard pressed to find any those. Hopefully one day I will be able to taste these as well. They are as local a brewery as they come — based on Randolph Crescent in the West End they stick to their Edinburgh roots. Long may they brew!

Absolutely great beers and ales! I must say that the Original Innis and Gunn is one of the best beers I’ve ever had!
