As a tourist hitting them up for brunch and pub quiz, it felt lucky to find this place. It’s a bit out of the way.
They’re quality. Their brunch was great for tourists because they do a full haggis brunch and offer a tasty vegetarian version too. The pesto mushrooms were excellent. Came back later for drinks and more quality! They serve Posh Pimms by glass or pitcher, and make the ginger juice fresh to order.
Good place for day drinking!

i just love guilty lily’s. and i kinda like that whenever i go there, it seems quite quiet? obviously not great for business, but certainly very enjoyable for me. and it such a quirky bar, it is a genuine pleasure to hang out in it.
it is the perfect bar to spend a hungover sunday. i’ve probably eaten here a dozen times, and the food is always faultless. their burgers are probably some of the best i’ve ever had, and i used to eat a lot of burgers (sadly for me i have stopped eating meat, happily for the animals, i have stopped eating meat. if i was to break my meat fast, it would probably be here that i do it)

I go here quite regularly, as it’s just round the corner. The atmosphere can be a bit mixed depending on who’s working and who’s drinking, but is generally good. They accept children and dogs and have a variety of board games and magazines so even if you’re on your own you don’t feel out of place.
I like the décor and the quirky feel of it. The couches are comfy, the toilets are clean and the menu is good, I love the antpasto which I’m ashamed to say I can make short work of!
They have regular quiz nights and things, I think I’ve seen burlesque advertised. There’s also an open mic night here some Wednesdays.

Guilty Lily is one of these bistro bar type things that wants to provide the fun, relaxed atmosphere of a boozer but also takes its food rather seriously. These are the sorts of places that I love, and my other half hates.
The location isn’t great, quite noisy and busy, but the interior is really warm and inviting, and the food is homely and filling. The steak and ale pie was a treat, and it came with a mountain of chips which were thick cut and home made. I loved the cocktail menu too, a bit different from the norm, and I think my bf was won over by the new ‘in’ drink, Dark and Stormy, which boasts home brewed Ginger Ale.
A nice place for a meal if you fancy a more relaxing experience, and not bad value for money either!

When it opened it had some potential. Standard ikea-​style bar lampshades and lots of white paint, the whole thing was rather cute. However, I went back recently and it had deteriorated rapidly. The barman was a right misery and got rather tiresome when he was rolling his eyes for the 3 seconds it took me to pick a drink. Prices don’t really reflect the location or the menu which is a real shame because when I went 6 months ago, despite the pretentious name, it was actually rather good fun.

Awful service, we’re not going back, they lost us as customers.
My wife and I went in to have some lunch — she was also desperate for the toilet. Unofortunately because she started the conversation by saying ‘can I use your loo?’, before she ordered, the waiter/​barman said No rudely, turned round and walked away. We could barely believe our ears and left.
Presumably he must have thought that we had just come in to take advantage of the toilet rather than eat, but something more polite, along the lines of ‘I’m afraid the toilets are only for customers’ would have brought out an explanation from us that we were indeed customers. Being rude and walking away was totally uncalled for.

Quite a cute place. Guilty Lily is quite large inside, with cute, modern decorations. Though they don’t have an extensive food list, what they do have is an offering of food different than your normal pub; think gourmet soup, burgers and more, but prices that don’t say gourmet. They have something for everyone — an espresso bar, nice sized wine menu and a great bar! Guilty Lily will definitely be seeing me again!
