Full Cirqle is a dedicated space for the circus arts and on a typical evening there will be people practicing acrobatics, juggling, hula hoop, poi, parkour and aerial skills. Members have 24 hour access to the space and it is used for self practice as well as a number of classes and workshops(which are generally listed on the website). I’m a member here and as the space is run by volunteers it’s very much a community with members asked to help out at events and making new members welcome and showing people about. Non-members can be signed in by a member, come to classes or to open training(not aerial) at Circus Skool which runs most Sunday evening from 6 to 9pm The reception area has sofas and a kitchen area for chilling out in as well as storage cubbie holes for bags etc. The downstairs space is double hight ceiling with three offices/meeting rooms off it, which is good for practicing juggling a ridiculous number of juggling clubs very high. The mezzanine level has soft mats and is a great practice space. The yoga studio is a small room off the mezzanine with wooden floors and is great for yoga and stretching. The aerial barn is a separate part of the building and is mainly used for aerial and parkour classes. It’s got a good range of classes at beginner to professional level. There is further fundraising to be done to help pay for further insulation and heating to make the building more suitable for training in during winter as it’s a huge open space and expensive to heat using the current panel heating. There is no where else that I can think of in Edinburgh where hanging from the ceiling is actively encourage and being a clown is considered normal.
