Went here twice, first time they cut my hair far too short. I said on the shoulder and they cut it an inch above the shoulder. I didn’t learn, and went back again, because the salon is really good value compared to others. This time the length was better, but it never really sat right. When I went to a different salon for my next cut, they asked me whether I cut my hair myself… Because the back looked all crooked. Not going back here again!

Such mixed reviews but how can a salon that wins Scottish Hair and Beauty award be bad! This sounds like the sour grapes of a raving lunatic to me! We all know one ;-) I’m booked in for Saturday and will happily return with my truthmachine review soon after folks!

After reading negative reviews about Dune, I was regretting purchasing a Keratin treatment from Groupon. But, the girls in the salon were actually really friendly. I got my hair done in a temp salon a few doors along, which was very cold, as Dune was being repaired. But the young girl in there made sure I had plenty hot tea and coffee to keep warm. She had great customer service, and an assett to the company. Although Dune itself def looks nothing like its website. I had popped in to change my appointment while they were still in their own salon. I had to pop in, as the phones were off. Quite annoying. But def not the proffessional image its online site portrays. The Keratin treatment was OK, but was recommended to spend near on 40quid on shampoo & conditioner for after care the same of which i managed to purchase cheaper elsewhere. I wouldnt get the treatment again, it actually hasnt made my hair appear or feel much different. The cut isnt great. On closer inspection, I still have alot of split ends, even though the request was to chop them all off. She even cut right into my layers I said i was growing out as she said the split ends needed to come off. Yet i still have split ends. My fringe was not cut straight which i pointed out. I was told this was because my hair was straightened and because of the the colour, that you could see the scissors marks. I have poker straight hair anyway, and always hi-lighted, so I can tell you, there arent usually scissor marks like this in my fringe. I agreed to come back if i still felt that way once i washed it. But i went to my usual hairdresser to fix it, who raised an eyebrow at the scissor marks and uneven cut. I just didnt want to risk Dune fixing it, and it ending up even shorter and still uneven. Infact, thinking back, my hair wasnt brushed, asked about or looked at before it was washed. So she prob presumed my hair was wavy, as i had just taken it out of a plait. Like I said, the girls were nice enough, but I wont be recommending it, and wont be returning for any further treatments. Sorry, but Im looking forward to my hair growing a bit more over the next few weeks, then going for a really good proffessional chop at my usual salon, as they take time to examine my hair, and work with it in the best way possible. It may not be as cheap as a groupon deal, but save alot of hassle and frustration by paying extra for a cut I am happy with. Oh, and their straightners need binned and replaced. I complained it was sticking to my hair and pulling it out. She said it was my split ends. ?? I have straight hair, but do straighten it for extra hold before clubbing. My GHD’s do not stick to my ends. They dont stick at all. Bin the white sticky hair pullers.
