A couple of my friends and I took a night train to Scotland and we basically were backpacking for a day so we decided to take a free 3 hour tour that took us to the Grassmarket for a midway break. Stopped by this café to grab something warm to drink because it was freezing outside. Got their hot chocolate, oh my gosh by far the best hot chocolate I’ve had since I’ve been in the UK for almost two months now. I especially loved how they added cream AND marshmallows with no extra charge at all.
Yeah it’s small but I would honestly prefer a small café rather than a large chain café where it’s noisy like Costa or Starbucks. I wanted to get another cup before we left the next morning but just didn’t have enough time.

Another one off coffee shop. Not too bad, but there are plenty of other better places to get a coffee. The menu seemed like your standard sandwiches and cakes, nothing really special. Although, it was roomy and bright inside.
The tables are on the smaller side, so not good for large groups. But a decent spot for a small meet up.
