Morningside has few good cafes that really make fresh delicious cakes. Cafeblush is the exception. Lots of choice in fresh homemade cakes plus high quality tea and coffee. Busy nice atmosphere. Only downside is that its cash only.

Were can you get pekoe tea, artisan roast coffee and artisan cheesecake all in one place?! HERE! Thats a winner in my book! We stopped in for cake and coffee/tea. I really liked my cake it was tasty and satisfying and loved my latte! My hubby got some cheesecake and some pekoe tea! Its like the perfect place for us since he loves tea and I love coffee! The food others were eating just looked meh… loved the art on the walls and the servers were very friendly! Great place for tea/coffee and cake/cheesecake!

Café Blush has a number of things going for it. They serve Pekoe Tea… always a plus in my book. They serve Artisan Roast coffee… I don’t drink coffee, but everyone loves Artisan Roast. And they serve Artisan Cheesecakes… which I got to try here for the first time and absolutely loved it. I had the millionaire cheesecake, which had caramel on top with chocolate pieces in the cheesecake… much better than I am making it sound and I highly recommend it. The café is well presented with nice art on the wall and some really cool travel mugs for sale. The décor is very pink, which seems to go along with the name. And it’s a good place for people watching on Morningside Road. Although we only had tea and cakes here, we did see some of the sandwiches that other folks ordered(all of the other customers were decades older than us). The sandwiches looked rather unexciting and I’m pretty sure they were made on basic store-bought brown or white bread, much like you could get at any of a number of cafes. If you’re in Morningside and not wanting to walk all the way to Bruntsfield for Artisan Roast, Artisan Cheesecakes or to Tollcross for Pekoe, then by all means you should stop here. It would be worth your visit.

On a street full of coffee shops, this little place doesn’t really stand out, that is unless you have a gluten problem. If you are trying to avoid gluten it can’t recommend it enough. A great selection of gluten free goodies, and the coffee is fair trade. Well worth checking out :) YUM

Café blush. Saturday. April 420152.30−3.50 pm Sadly I am now planning possibly never to return here. A friend and have been coming for years. Maybe in a year I’ll try again. No eye contact with customers. It’s chronic. It’s awful. Didn’t see staff clear away dishes whilst customers still there. You know it is awful to me… To rise from a table that dirty dishes sit. I watched. The staff don’t do it. Maybe the time of day 2.30pm. I never had complaints et 11.15 time I used to go when on my way to horse fields… I think the afternoon staff are lack. So I’ve sought out a new café for my approx ever 4 week lunch with my friend. Shame… Ps. The slavic waitress was so curt and annoyed. Had to ask to remove cups at end of stay… To be fair maybe I was narckie too. Still… And spooky annoyed when I asked for the code for wifi. To people not realise customers keep them in a job. :( Onwards and upwards. I have great praise for the owner who I think is Canadian?

Your usual salad, panini and sarnie affair but it when the woman in front of me asked about what she could have with a wheat allergy the lovely staff member reeled off an informed list, including how some of the breads were cooked and what she thought would suit her. Basically it was just like she was talking to a TV nutritionist. I was shocked and impressed as I used to work in a café and if someone was to ask me I’d shrug my shoulders and mutter«dinny care pal» So even though what I had wasn’t particularly outstanding(don’t get me wrong, it was nice) the woman in front must’ve had a right rip-roaring time. Top marks for employing some brilliant staff.

Excellent little Café that serves some really tasty paninis and salads etc. Very child friendly and the staff could not have been nicer. This is the only place i have been of this type that REALLY caters for custromers with a wheat allergy. Will definitely be back.

Great new café run by two friends who have gone into business together. I had a fantastic chorizo panini(completely fresh and hot!) and they also have delicious cakes and biscuits — plus some gluten and wheat-free pastries. The owners are so nice and friendly that it’s a delight to go in there. And I honestly have no connection to them — it was just such a great little place that I want more people to know about it!

Went here a lot after it first opened and it was good. Then very disappointed when one of the owners overcharged us for a lunch and denied it. Wouldnt go back, and advise you check your bills.
