Very poor service. Ordered dresses in September 11, was told in the shop that the dresses would be delivered in January 12. They order the dresses in wedding date order instead of the date which you place the order. Dresses finally arrived in March 12.

Awful ! Went there today to have a look at bridesmaid dresses and a bolero to put on my wedding dress and I have been told that there was«No way»(Shop assistant words) that they would order a bolero and bridesmaid dresses if I wasn’t also buying my wedding dress in their shop. Future brides don’t waist your time with them.

I can only echo what the previous reviewers have said about Butterflies. It’s full of good expectations, but the second I walked in, I knew this wasn’t the right place or style for me. I was looking for a dress for my Grad ball, and didn’t want to get anything ordinary, so someone mentioned this place to me, and I went down to have a look. Tacky. Very, very tacky. And really young too. I am only 23, but the dresses would be best suited to a 15 or 16 year old blonde bimbo American girl. They are sickly sweet, or garishly brightly coloured, with more gems and diamanté than you can shake a stick at. The fabric is very synthetic, and I just really wasn’t impressed at all. A quick browse and a quick nod to the assistant and we left. I can’t imagine who would shop here, but I would advise you to try somewhere else.

The reviews of the other girls crack me up and I could not agree more! You know those bad tacky American films with girls obsessing over prom and getting into overdone, meringue like dresses? Well fear not my dear prom-goers you can get your dress from Butterflies.(do they even do proms here??) I haven’t spent a great deal in the shop, so I hope that with enough browsing you might find something a bit more sophisticated and perhaps even chic. Then again you might be really cool like my friend who does fabrics and fashion at ECA and whip up something yourself for a fraction of a price. If you are like me — a bit useless with the needle– you might best try your luck elsewhere for a formal gown. Sorry Butterflies but no thank you!

My bride-to-be friend was in town looking for bridesmaid dresses and someone had recommended this shop to her. I had walked past it a few times and was a little worried when she insisted on taking us here, I had nightmares as to what she was going to choose for us unsuspecting bridesmaids. This shop reminds me of the dresses you see those awful, spoiled kids wear on My Super Sweet 16. You know the ridiculously bright coloured, bedazzled, over the top monstrosities I’m talking about. Everything is so ‘in your face’ that the only girl you can imagine wearing these dresses is perma-tanned and peroxide blonde. Or perhaps Jordan. That being said, your 16 year old daughter who knows no better will probably love this shop and find the perfect dress for her prom. She will just look back in 5 years and be horrified. Oh and thankfully the bride-to-be did not inflict any of these dresses on us.

Are you 16? Do you need a tasteless dress? Butterflies is for you. Everything inside looks like it’s been bought from a Thailand eBay store. Providing dresses for school proms and leavers balls, we’ve all fallen victim to being young and attracted to cheap fabrics that vaguely resemble something a celebrity wore once. In a way I feel sorry for ball gown shoppers though, I remember my leavers ball there was beggar all places to get one. But even if Butterflies is your only option, it’s not a good one.
