B+b Edinburgh

A very cosy hotel in one of the magnificent Georgian streets of Edinburgh’s New Town. Full of historical charm and period details. The staff are excellent and the rooms are modern and clean.
One minor point is that our room was a bit stuffy and damp smelling but we opened the window to air it and it was fine after about an hour.
Would highly recommend.

A very good hotel. Clean, great views. The service was terrific very helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We enjoyed our stay. It was a little hard to get to but that was a part of its charm, being in a quit residential neighborhood. The breakfast was quite good as was the service. The space remind of an old school house with updated facilities. For example, there is a lift, but it is very small. The views outside some window are picturesque.
Our bathroom had a large window that faced the residence acrosss the street. We pulled the shade but it’s a little odd. The water temp was HOT in part because of radiator steam heating. On rainy days, it feels really nice.
We enjoyed our stay. Not sure the people across the street enjoyed us much.

High Points: Spacious/​clean/​beautiful rooms. Unlimited coffee, tea and walkers biscuits 24hrs a day. Pastries at breakfast were amazing!
Medium points: Close-​ish to the castle and Royal Mile if you are a good walker. If you aren’t, stay closer to tourist attractions as we found out the public transportation system in Edinburgh is not that great or direct.
Low points (this is why I can’t give it 5 stars): The first person on duty when we arrived was not so friendly and did not seem to want to help (it got better as the days progressed). The water was either hot or cold… there was no happy medium.
All in all a great historic place to stay at. Would for sure recommend.
