Azalay The Tropics Edinburgh

Azalay is an interesting and quirky little shop situated on Morningside Road which specialises in foreign and tribal ornaments and garments. It’s not my type of thing but my mum was fascinated by the varied and colourful collection of items. I accidentally brushed past some one dimensional salamanders and frogs, knocking them all off the wall and then made a complete fool of myself trying to put them back up. Thankfully the owner didn’t mind. She told us that the items she sells are sourced from all around world including Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia. Besides ornaments and jewellery Azalay also offers high quality (apparantly) garments such as Indian silks which seemed pretty pricey — but they would be. It’s not up my street but it’s still worth a look for anyone who’s interested in unusual ornaments and the like.
