we stayed here in april for 3 nights. its just opposite haymarket train station, so around a 15 minute walk to the main streets in edinburgh, and not forget theres lots of hill there. we managed to get a good deal 3 nights for the price of 2 so it worked out around 50 pound a night per room, with breakfast. the room was narrow with not a great deal of storage, but ok for a short stay. Big shower and big tv on he wall opposite the bed, so the rooms feel really cosy. Breakfast was great. the continetal was buffet and then you could order something of the menu. the breakfast food was of excellent quality as was the service, i would definatley recommend.

A serviceable boutique-ish hotel. I can’t recall the exact price, but it was a solid value. The location isn’t bad: on the bus line(Haymarket Station) into town from the airport and only about a mile from Edinburgh Castle. It’s also a couple of blocks from a Dollar car rental office. The staff were all friendly, and terribly apologetic when the fire alarm went off on the first morning of my stay. I thought that I had overslept and was thankful for the alarm to wake me up… until I asked a fellow guest for the time as we were standing outside and he replied«Six-thirty.» Oops. Trust me, that’s a real moment of panic when you awaken to a fire alarm on the first day of your vacation, unsure of exactly what you should grab as you’re dashing about the room trying to remember where you dropped your clothes the previous night and how many of them you really need. I think that I took my wallet, passport, and that’s it. Ha ha, it all worked out for the best – false alarm. We were back inside within ten minutes, and I got an early start on the day.
