There is nothing fantastically unique about A and A food store on Easter Road, but it actually saved my life one day when I was running around doing errands and it was literally boiling. If I didn’t get a drink soon, I would faint, and I couldn’t see anywhere else at all but A&A who appeared to me like a mirage in the Desert. It’s a kind of old fashioned looking shop, and the people who own this also own next doors Trader shop, so I assume it’s a pretty well established name in the area. It sells the usual shop stuff, everyday groceries, papers, juices, some alcohol, cigarettes. I have to say I did find it a wee bit on the expensive side but there really is no competition around here so I guess they can charge what they like. The shop is clean, well kept and the assistant very nice and friendly as a grabbed my Diet Irn bru off the counter and gulped it down like I was a mad woman. A very handy shop on the Easter Road, but might do well to knock a few pence off their stuff.
