As a northerner down here I thought I had found a half decent chippy after a couple of visits. this lunchtime proved me wrong. I waited 15 minutes«for the chips», how many chippys don’t have chips on the go at lunchtime, obviously ones that don’t sell too many! I noticed her scraping away in the fryer. When I opened them in the car, they hadn’t even had the decency or commonsense to mix them, I had a portion of old rubbery chips, the fish was about the size of a goldfish with stodgy undercooked batter. Yes of course I went in and complained, they give me fresh chips– why couldn’t they have done that in the first place? Still, a very under-whelming experience, won’t be driving across town for another visit!

Despite the ‘award winning’ sign in the window It’s pretty standard chippy, nothing blow-you-away special, but if you are passing and fancy some good ol’ fish n chips then these guys have what your looking for.

On the contrary to one review on the chip shop in Crawley Down, I found the food there taste nice and very reasonably priced. On the other hand the master fryer is rather expensive even with their buy 1 get 1 free voucher published in local paper through out the year.

Competes well with other local ‘chippers’, but nothing special. Alright for a quick bite!

Very slow working stuff a chefs cooks the fish then counter stuff take money as well as packet the chips. Fish and chips taste is nothing special the same as any other English fish and chips shop however the master fryer left me with a bad belly.
