A good value for money gourmet location with an adventurous chef working hard with local ingredients. An eight course tasting menu is currently on at £38 which is excellent value and certainly worth trying.
There is a good hotel above the restaurant called Farnley Towers where I stay when in Durham. Nice spot for both B&B and good food
