I had been in this café a couple of years ago & remember sitting upstairs which was rather loud with chatter. The tables are close together which makes it feel cramped. Nothing had changed on that front. I ordered chilli on a baked potato, there was no chilli so ended up with spicy chicken which was a bit watery & the potato was a little firm in places ie just cooked. Latte was fine. I wouldn’t say I would be rushing back but would think if there was somewhere else slightly better before going in. No wi-fi & net access poor on fone.

Nice enough. Good prices, good food. The only thing to whatch out for is that it is often quite busy though(Lots of students). That having been said it is a favorite stop in Durham.

Im surprised Café Continental hasnt been reviewed yet, though it is easy to overlook. Situated on the Elvet Bridge with a strong of other nondescript cafes it doesnt really look like much. The few times I have eaten here I have had breakfast items. All were above par. The quality is really nice and above your average café and the rest of the items on the menu looks to be more than your typical café fare. The ambiance is nice, though a bit small, with option to eat downstairs in the more casual area or upstairs with table service. Prices are also quite reasonable with some very good specials. The best thing about this café might be the service. It is some of the best I have had in all of the UK.

I went in here with a friend, it was my first time and to be hinest I’ll probably not go back. Everything seemed very expensive for what it was, I don’t mind paying more money if the food is worth it, but this definitely wasn’t. There wasn’t much choice either and nothing that I fancied, so I ended up getting a coffe and a cake. The staff were friendly though and nothing seemed too much trouble for them
