Cracking looking little(tiny!) café that we normally just walk past(but today we went in for breakfast & I’m pleased we did!) Excellent ‘cooked to order’ breakfast with loads on the plate(inc fried bread, fried potatoes and toast!) with a decent quality cofee included in the price(no idea how they do that for £3.95!!), bacon sandwich has good with loads of bacon, as was the eggy bread(at £1.50 a slice) — 4 of us ate breakfast for £15!!! (If it had been lunchtime I may have been tempted by the large range of cakes & pastries which looked excellent) The only downside was the seating area upstairs which was tiny & very very hot– even though we were the only customers, can’t imagine what it must be like when it gets full!-there is a small outside terrace at the side

I struggled with the stars for this one… First things first, if it is lovely outside, they do have a nice outside dining area on the river, unfortunately if you sit inside there is one window, but it is blocked by the Bella Italia/Café Rouge next door. It is quite tiny downstairs, but the seating area upstairs seems more roomy because of the high ceiling. The menu was on the board, but it was a bit difficult to read. There were loads of options, the hardest part is choosing an option! Once I settled on a turkey sandwich, I did add a chocolate brownie as the baked goods were sitting out… so tempting! You order downstairs and then make your way to a table, although they also do takeaway. The sandwich was ok, admittedly I probably didn’t choose my toppings right. They also include salad and pasta on the side. The salad did not have any kind of dressing on it and they also didn’t provide oil or vinegar to make your own and the pasta… well I think it had seasoning and olive oil on it, but it must have been in the chiller for some time as it was a bit congealed. So why the four stars? The brownie. Yes, it was that good! In fact, I almost bought another to take with me. It was a substantial piece that was gooey and rich on the inside. I haven’t had a seriously amazing brownie in some time! It seemed like the other people who came in were just have tea and sweets… clearly they knew something I didn’t. The girls next to me ordered the Banoffee Pie and they were saying how wonderful it was. My advice: skip lunch, have a lush baked good, and a pot of tea.
