Storm Heating

Incompetent, dishonest. Property damaged. Far too long to do the work which was never properly completed. The pipes still leak and their best idea was to re-​locate the boiler into the lounge. Their first idea being to place it is in a bedroom, Subsequently we moved out of this rented flat.

WELL reason i came to complain is i just could not believe it was just me going through the situation.
May 2012 Sunday, boiler brokedown phoned Halifax homeserve, appiontment booked for Monday.
Engineer arrived on monday spent an hour looking, testing etc, (also stated he was their TOP ENGINEER!!!), Parts needed to be ordered and will be fixed by Wednesday.
Wednesday no show or phonecall, Friday made a phonecall to be told that they will becoming Saturday, my reply was are you positive as i will have to cancel my appionments, «yes that will be fine they are definatly coming tommorrow»
Saturday no show, no phonecall, phoned yet again to be told AM SORRY ABOUT THAT assured that an engineer would come out on Sunday morning, I phoned them sunday morning to remind them (i just get the feeling) Engineer came had a look and guess what THE PREVIOUS ENGINEER HAD ORDERED THE WRONG PARTS (TOP ENGINEER).
When speaking to customer services what do you reckon they said «the job seems to be bigger then expected, ist going to be hard to find the parts as the are no longer in circulation etc» do all companies use they same pattern.
Previous engineer stated the the job is simple to fix.
I have managed to try and keep this breif, but beleive me there is so much that can be said, phonecalls, being told RUBBISH and having to listen to it, not to mention me taking time to write this etc
How can a experienced engineer come, spend an hour but still managed to order the wrong parts which we paid for (and thats another story).
This seems to be a regular code of practise for Storm, surely if they did the job correct and excellent customer service it would make buisness more easier, but instead it seems that they go out of their way to mis lead and waste our time, which leads to people like me writing to WARN POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS) not to even consider using their services, even if it stops one person thats good.
Buisness is hard as it is for a company to be treating its customers in total dsiregard is out of order,
Oh year still no heating or hot water, we are a family two small kids etc, jsut been told that they will come on Tuesday, a whole week plus has passed, well to the next chapter
its like a soap opera
Conclusion; if you have a lot of time to waste, have a very high tolerance of BULLSH, willing to except cowboys in your property, willing to spend money for () then yep Storm is the company for you.
If not try an always review the company first as i am tending to find that they are not the only companies that have excellent bad service.

Was told engineer would be coming at 8;30 9:30, phonecall at 9:30 to say they are stuck in traffic. Arrives at 12:00 am, works untill 4pm just to tell me he cant complete the job as it has old wires and he cant connect it, i said that sholud of been established the first time a engineer came around (this is the third time), the component had a electric lead attached to it, so i asked well surley if you bought the component you would know there is eletrical work involved, reply am a electrician but not that type of electrician,
I then phoned there version of customer services, to be told a different story by the employee, clearly did not have a glue actually sounded very foolish trying to make and find a justifiable reason for imcompetence.
I honestly feel they need reporting to some sort of Health and Safety person, reason they clearly do not know what they are doing, yet they are taking care of boilers not good.
Really three times round about 3 cancellations numerous phonecalls,

Hi I have found Storm Heating pleasant to deal with, they called to say that they would come next day, which was great… the weather was mild anyway, so I could live with that… However they then rang to say they have spare capacity, and that an engineer would be there that afternoon instead! Great! I asked them to give me a call 30 mins beforehand so that I could get back from the weekly shopping trip, and whilst at the cereal shelf my mobile rang! A polite man, the engineer, said he would be about 45 minutes, and apologised for the length of time he was from my house. I said «no problems», finished my shop, and got home to put the kettle on. A well-​presented young man called in a blue uniform rang the doorbell, and fixed the boiler within half an hour.
Later that day, a manager called to ask about the service I had received… I gave full marks.
A different experience aparently from some other posters on here!

YOU CAN READ THIS AS A WINGE …
OR AS A PRE-​WARNING FROM SOMEONE BURNT
Would not take up ANY service from Storm heating — Storm heating sent to our home by HOMESERVE for boiler fault — parts ordered took 1+ week to arrive (when engineer could have EASILY purchased the same filling loop from local plumber in 20 min) —
on 2^nd visit– to fit part he caused a leak by causing a crack in a small copper pipe in boiler, causing water to spray out — He turned off the MAINS water tap to the WHOLE property and left site claiming HE HAS REPLACED THE PART AND THE ORIGINAL FAULT HAS BEEN RECTIFIED!!!
3^rd visit agreed with call planner as first call morning priority (arranged someone to take time off work to stay at home) — get call in the morning to say engineer will now come PM after 2pm!
Trying to speak to MANAGER for 2 days — told No manager available…(for 2 days???))
EVERONE in STORM SERVICE WILL… state the rules of how they (storm) operate but …
NO ONE prepared to take responsibility
NO ONE understands the customer issue & difficulties (caused by storm)
NO ONE evern shows ANY degree of compassion in view of THEIR failings
NO ONE i have spoken to shows any interest in CUSTOMER SERVICE
YOU WILL constantly hear why they CANT get someone or do something
ENGINEERS lacking TECHNICAL COMPETENCE —
WORST OF ALL… Storm Engineer can leave l a major leak, no water and still claim «JOB DONE»…
STORM HEATING — Like a lost ship steered by people who just want to get the day over!
If i thought this was a one off then I would’nt even bother this rant but I feel this serious lack of service at Storm Heating IS THE CULTURE. so more people are likely to get burnt!
