My local park could be so much better. In parts it looks well kept and loved but in others it’s overgrown and I think my dog got a drug habit from running round some of the areas, but that’s unconfirmed. The canal only looks clean when the yearly canal boat show is on, but even then it just get even more dirty due to the locals the boat show attract(angry gypsies)(travellers?). You have such classics as the Netherton tunnel, which is a boat tunnel with a broken footpath that lies in pitch black. Me and my friends used to dare each other to see who would walk in the furthest with any lights when we were kids. One of them never came back. Some say he made it all the way to Netherton, some just say he got taken by the mole people who live in the tunnel. The old pump house is scary but looks cool, broken glass can often be found inside and around It. You might think it would be hard to find a solid surface to smash glass off in a park, but the pump house provides that facility. There is also a large hill with a footpath to the top for easy access if you want to check out the view. Original Rowley gangstas like my self like to free climb to the top and it’s some of the best fun to be had in the whole park.
