Great pub to stop by for lunch after a long hike in the surrounding area. We had the Sunday Roast, which was delicious. Atmosphere is warm/friendly and comfortable. Recommend that you make reservations beforehand as it gets very crowded.

If you eat here you must choose the nachos. They were absolutely amazing! Tender chunks of beef rather than mince is used for the chilli. It has a sweet smokey flavour that goes well with the nachos and freshly chopped chilli and peppers. Bread and olives were ok but the bread had been slightly undercooked so was very doughy. Brilliant view but be warned the road to get to this pub is dreadful. Almost lost the car in the potholes they are that deep and wide so drive carefully!

We found this pub through a brilliant Groupon deal(2-course meal for 4 — £43). I am glad to report that the experience was well worth the money, and would have been worth it at full prices. It is easy to see why they have attempted to promote themselves through Groupon. The pub is extremely quiet, although it is worth saying that it is hard to see why because the service and food was great. My starter was nachos, which was not anything like traditional nachos, but decent nevertheless. I had a burger(with all the extras), and ribs, for my main course, both of which were very nice and of generous portion size. I finished off with chocolate sundae and crème brûlée for desert. These were both delicious. The sundae was a textbook sundae, sweet and simple. And the crème brûlée was decent. Service was stunning, with the waiter being extremely kind, and food came promptly(although we were the only customers in the pub at the time). The atmosphere of the pub is also gorgeous. All-in-all, the pub has everything going for it, but for some reason obviously hasn’t kicked off. Although our first meal was bought through Groupon, we will definitely be paying the pub another visit.

The food is excellent, especially for a Sunday lunch, and there are great walks to and from the pub. The King William serve a good range of beers which are regularly updated. The pub does get very busy(particularly during winter when everyone wants to eat inside) so it’s worth booking. Outside seating in summer with views towards Ranmore. Parking can be a bit problematic, with the road right next to the pub at such a steep angle and another road nearby marked for residents only. Again, try to arrive early to avoid any problems.
