Recently took a trip to Paignton from Dawlish Warren with my family including my elderly father-in-law who uses a wheelchair. Staff on the train and at the station couldn’t have been more helpful and were very courteous especially when dealing with my father-in-law. it was such a refreshing change to be treated in such a friendly and positive manner and greatly added to the enjoyment of our holiday.

Paignton Station is a really quaint little station, the train crosses the main Torbay Road before entering the station and you normally feel like waving to the children on the level crossing who are waving at your. It is a lovely way to enter the town. The station is small but it has everything you need, a ticket machine, ticket office with lots of information leaflets, toilets, cycle storage and a great little café. I can recommend the bacon baps and a hot mug of tea. When you leave the station there is a taxi rank at the front and the bus station is just across the road. If you don’t have too much luggage you can easily walk to the central hotels and B & B’s. If you have just come for the day the beach is less than 5 minutes away.
