Jonty Farmer is the closest pub to University of Derby and even though the uni had student union bar, there is still a lot of students who come here. It is a spacious pub that is very family friendly. The prices are reasonable and in some aspects reminds me of weatherspoons as Jonty Farmer also has steak nights, curry nights etc. They do show a majority if not all the main sporting events here and have TV screens dotted around the pub. The food takes a while to come as its freshly made and its comfort pub food. Have been here numerous times and the food was always so tasty, comforting and wholesome. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a good choice of alcohol as they serve wines, cocktails, beers and soft drinks. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. I never had cocktails here but know the beer is good. It is a good pub thats not so far from town but a short taxi journey away.

The food is disgusting and all frozen stuff, would never eat there again! The pub is ok of your old and want to watch football.

It was a nice pub with a good atmosphere. The food wasn’t so great, the mashed potato was packet mash, harldy any of the ‘rich’ gravy the menu stated, the beef was chewy, and the monterey jack cheese cheeseburger had a cheese slice on it. On a plus side though the kids meals were great.

The Jonty farmer is a lovely family environment with friendly waiters/Waitress’, Fairly priced food and probably the best toilet facilites I’ve seen. There is an extensive menu containing Jacket potatoes, Curries and even Childrens meals. A brilliant place to have Dinner, I couldn’t find fault with it.

This local pub serves good well priced food and has special evenings dedicated to ‘curry’ and ‘steak’ nights where they offer special deals. The pub is very child friendly and spacious. They have a large screen and show all big football and rugby games and does get busy during these times. The pub mainly attracts locals and is in a student area but does not attract an abundance of them. Only downside to this pub is that it doesnt have a pool table! Situated about ten minutes from Derby city centre it is on the main bus route to derby or a short taxi journey if you fancied carrying on an evening.
