Bistango Restaurant

Authentic and good quality Italian food. This restaurant has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, presentation is lacking, with a dingy entrance and a long walk up stairs before you actually reach the restaurant. Service is slow, even for an Italian restaurant. The major bonus, of course, is the price, which is so cheap one wonders how they actually make a profit, especially since the food really is enjoyable!

This restaurant is a sort of general Mediterranean style of cooking with a slight Italian bias. It has a strange entrance as you have to walk along a corridor and then upstairs before you get to the restaurant. It looks like it was either an old church or law courts as it has a balcony surrounding the main restaurant.
The food is good quality and there is plenty of it. The prices are very reasonable — about £5 — £7 for a ²⁄₃ course lunch .
The problem comes as there are too few staff so the service is soooo slow that it takes hours for a group to get their food and sometimes some members get their food up to 5 minutes after the others which doesn’t make for a very sociable meal.
Having said that if you are not in a hurry and there are not a lot of people in your party then it is really good value food.
