This is by far the best Indian food, or «Curry» as the English folk call it, that I have ever had. I ordered the Goan Sea Bass Curry and shared some appetizers with the rest of my party. We all shared our entrees as well and I was impressed with everything I tasted. The atmosphere was classic and elegant and the service was excellent. I will definitely be visiting Anoki once again the next time I’m in Derby.

Wow my taste buds were having a field day tonight, My wife and I were invited to her grandmothers birthday meal. On arriving with my father in law we were all greeted with a very pleasant and warm atmosphere from the staff we arrived just 5min early from the rest of our party. First thing that stood out apart from the excellent greeting staff were all the truly wonderful pictures and chandeliers hanging from the walls and ceiling. Anyway after everyone had arrived we settled down to the most inportant part the food ordering A wide range of meals that cried out eat me! stood out and choosing for the seven of us was left to my father in law who made a great choice of dishes. The flavorsome meals went down a treat and the drinks that were also traditional accompanied them very well. Along with the after pudding and drink I was truly stuffed and went home a happy(stuffed!) man A great place to go for that extra special experience of india

I would say that this place has all the glitz and glam but not enough of the love for the food. The service and the presentation was exceptional, but I wasn’t blown away by the food. It was just fine. It’s really really pricey here and honestly I don’t know if I would could back if we had to pay.

Good Indian restaurant in the upper half of an old cinema. Food is very good and a visit here is the highlight of the visits to Derby my employer sends me on.

What ever food I triied I was delighted. Anoki is keeping his high standard even if the service is some times very offensive, but most times it has been friendly and supportive. The service for drinks and additional orders is quick and the atmosphere is very warm and even though it is very good booked it is not that crowded.

This is hands down my second favourite Indian restaurants of all the places I’ve ever been(including my life and times spent in India). I’ve always believed that it’s the entire experience that constitutes a memorable meal and not just the food, which I’ve generally worked out to be: 50% Food 10% Waiters(and of Indian restaurants the proportion wearing deodorant) 20% The company: equally split between person to the right, left and across the table 10% Décor 10% Price Consequently, one can realize the magnitude of rarity that all of these factors could be repeated. And here is where Anoki(and a very few others) stand out. The food has been fantastic every one of the five times I have been; the waiters have been cordial and accommodating, and I’ve never had a doubt in my mind over the value for money(since it is comparatively a bit pricier).

Anoki derby has beautiful décor, lovely crockery and the staff are polite and very friendly with their regar customers. They are also dressed in great costumes, however the prices were extortionate for Derby, and the food quality was really not impressive. Nothing had a distinct taste or stood out for me, and we had 12 different dishes between us in my party. It was sub standard commercial Indian food and has really only got three stars from me for the good points I’ve made at the beginning of the review! We came here on recommendation, but left disappointed that the food did not excite our Indian tastebuds.

Anoki is a nice dining experience, but certainly not as special as I was hoping. The staff are friendly and helpful, but nothing above what I am used to in pretty much any family run Bangladeshi place around the country. We did spend AGES waiting for our bill — it was a good job we weren’t in a hurry to move on to our next appointment! The décor is nice and the atmosphere is really good. However, I was expecting something special from the food and it was of a standard quality. Perhaps not as much excess fat as a slightly cheaper place, but that does not justify £14 for a chicken curry, £15 for a lamb curry and more for fish\seafood! Like most places in the UK also these curries bore little resemblance to anything I tried in India and are the usual Brit-palate efforts. All that aside, the drinks are reasonably priced! To be honest, if you’ve got the money to spare, then why not spend it here. However, if you’re looking for a really special experience I’d go elsewhere.

Anoki Restaurantin Derby is a must for diners looking for something special. From the moment you walk up the marble steps you are made to feel very welcome by the enthusiastic and friendly staff. The Décor of the restaurant is amazing with beautifully Guilded ceilings and a very modern yet warm atmosphere. They even have a continuous projected Bollywood movie running in the background. The staff pamper to your every need as they present one beautiful dish after another. I live in London and have been to some good restaurants but this place tops them all. Every once in a while when I feel the need for a good Indian Meal, I have to endure the long journey up to Derby. But the end result is worth it. This is not just a restaurant it is an experience and it is highly recommended.

Although the food is good here, dine on a weekend and they are alway’s trying to hurry you up so they can have your table for somebodyelse. My experience was that I had my starter taken away from me before I had finished eating it, so that they could serve me my main dish and get me out of the door. This ruined the night, I shall never return.

One of my all time fave curry houses. Ok, it’s a bit kitsch, but that’s half the fun. The food is great too, so surprised by Jav54’s comments. What would be your chosen curry house in Derby?

I’m not too fond of microwaved pre-cooked food nor where a place flogs its customers mutton pretending it is lamb The previous comments look little more than promoters ;-)

Definitely the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to! It’s not in the most glamorous location, but as you climb the rose petal strewn stairs, you know you’re in for a treat. The venue is stunning — it’s set in an old theatre and so has gorgeous high ceilings where they project Bollywood films. Staff are professional, attentive and friendly. Most importantly though, the food is DIVINE. It’s not cheap, but definitely worth the expense. Love it — perfect for meal with friends or a date.

Anoki has to be the best Indian restaurant ive ever been to. The staff are all in traditional dress and the décor is modern and sophisticated. On the wall they play indian videos with popular indian music, it looks great. The food is well priced and worth every penny. I strongly recommend to try their banquet choices as you get a whole mixture of dishes so you can try them all. Attention to detail in Anoki’s is amazing, i especially love their glasses and cutlery! Ive never had a bad meal and would recommend it everyone who loves indian food. Parking is not fabulous and your best to park behind the restaurant, just a few minutes walk.
