When in London, you have to have Indian food. The sun was shining, so I went for a drive and came across Spices. Taking a look at their menu, I ordered some meat samosas and aimed for one of their house specials, the Murgh Korai. It took a little while to be cooked(or perhaps it felt that long because I had nothing else better to do), but everything arrived fresh and hot. I was too excited to eat, so I actually burned my tongue on the samosas because I couldn’t wait like a normal person. The salad was crisp, fresh, and simple; the Murgh Korai(with chicken) was juicy, tender, and seasoned well. I could’ve gotten it a little spicier, but I like to try things out as they are normally prepared. And the samosas were samosas, not overly greasy, nice and crisp. Good place to swing by if you’re looking for a bite to eat in Datchet!

Coming from America, I thought I knew what proper Indian food was, boy was I wrong. The wrongest I’ve been about anything. Indian food in America is SHIT. Spices provides dish after dish of exquisite Indian food porn. The naan bread, I mean come on… Buttery garlicky mouthgasm. The curries? I only wish I could use a ladle to shovel it into my mouth faster but I would for sure get kicked out immediately. Amazing spot that I will always be a return customer to.
