Ocean Palace Cantonese Restaurant

I have been trying to find a nice Chinese /​Cantonese Resturant in the area for when I visit. I was recommended this place by a coworker. As it was midweek the place was not very busy. The staff were friendly although they tended to hover over you or stand in the side watching you eat which I found a little off putting. The menu was large with lots of choices. I decided to got back to the 80’s with the classic lineup of chicken and sweet corn soup, ribs and king prawn with fried rice. The meal was tasty although the vegetables in my main dish were a bit cold hence the 4 stars. With a beer and a Bailys the meal came to £30 which is not too bad for the amount of food I had. Would come back again.

Great food. We often get take away from here too and it is always correct and just as good as the restaurant. Service could be a little friendlier, but just good enough to not be a real complaint. Definitely worth a try if you’ve never been.

The best in the North West! People come from all over the North West and beyond. i’ve spoken to people from Stoke and Sheffield, they all say the same, brilliant. I must agree with the previous reviewer your better off going mid week, as it can get really busy at weekends.

I have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions. I strongly reccomend their banquest which a truly delicious. I have been at weekend and during the week and I found the food better during the week — dont know if one off or not but it wasnt as busy so I didnt feel as rushed but I woudl really recommend this place for a meal.
