I had the pick me up smoothie and it did nothing but put me down, this really was the worst smoothie I have ever experienced. We threw it away in the end having drunk 5%. My wife had a mango burst which was bearable but not enjoyable. Sorry

I’m so sure this place used to serve drinks and smoothies with melon in them but according to the blank look on the guy’s face, I’m guessing I’m mistaken. Anyway. Joov at Bluewater is in a prime spot, clear as the nose on your face. It’s basically lit up like a giant Christmas tree so there’s no way you’ll saunter past it, trust me. The drinks are all called something like ‘power boost’, ‘banana bliss’ or ‘extra vitality’ and they’ve got a menu with drinks containing extra whey protein and vitamin supplements, etc. All that ‘extra super healthy’ stuff, as well as a skinny smoothie range with about 50 different types of fruit in it. Eventually I settled on a ‘feel good’ power smoothie, with strawberry, mango, apricot, apple, ginger and multi vitamin booster. I mean, it tasted okay, but the extra added multi vitamin booster gave it a sort of powdery taste that I could still feel in my mouth after. It also didn’t really taste of anything that was in it, and was a sort of pale orange washout colour. I think I’m going to have to try a plain old smoothie before I make my mind up properly, but for now, it was okay. The ice creams are really good though. I always feel that you can judge a good ice cream place by what their vanilla tastes like. If they can’t get the basic right, then there’s no hope for the rest, and I’m pleased to say this vanilla ice cream was smooth, sweet and had a lovely bunch of vanilla flavour, with actual vanilla seeds. Beautiful.

Joov has just recently opened in Bluewater mall and it is a great place to stop during your shopping excursions. They have a wide variety of very healthy treats from juices to smoothies, gelato, shakes and frozen yogurt. We sampled the juice, smoothie and froyo and it was all quite good. Speaking to the owner, he informed us that they didn’t use powders or sugar cane extract, but used an apple substitute which was actually quite good. This will definitely be a stopping place for me next time I am in Bluewater.
