I broke my chocolate fast for Lent at this store thanks to their free samples, bought a load of Christmas presents here and it’s a struggle to walk past it without popping in because of overwhelming chocolate smell. In short, it’s AMAZING. It’s a pretty big shop compared to a lot of the ones in Central — probably about three times the size of the one on Charing X Road for instance, and that works to its favour because it seems to have basically everything you could get online in the store too. Staff do pressure sell a little, not sure why, but if you tell them firmly you’re just looking or that you can look yourself they do leave you alone. I mean, at the end of the day, unless you’re going to let me try samples of what’s in the box, there’s very little you can do to help me decide other than leaving me alone to read the box. Prices can be expensive for what is essentially just chocolate, but I suppose it depends on what you get. You can get a huge slab of chocolate for £15 or a box of 12 chocolates for £20 so depending on what kind of person you are, i.e. a lot of chocolate but all one flavour or plain, or a few but variety, you can pick up something decent.

I love Hotel Chocolate and have a slight addiction to their Salted Caramel Puddles and their small Chocolate Caramel Buttons. I always find the staff really friendly and helpful in here, and they are always walking around with samples(which I always try to take more that one…). If I need a present for someone, or just feel like treating myself then I normally head straight to here. Anyone who loves chocolate will find something here to enjoy. It only loses one star because they hardly ever have the Puddles in and I’m always advised to just walk over to John Lewis to pick them up. Please just order more!
