This Premier Inn is very close to the Whitgift shopping centre and East Croydon Railway station, where you can get a train of approximately 15 minutes to London Victoria. This hotel prides its self with the Good nights sleep guarantee so I think I will start my review with that, I wasn’t expecting The Ritz quality with the price I paid, it actually was great value but still I wanted a good nights sleep as that isn’t what I got. I was woken up on 2 occasions of 3 over 2 nights very early in the morning due to the room being so cold. I dont think the pillows is much to shout about either, which they are doing with the Good Nights Sleep Guarantee. I did not like how Reception was not when you entered, instead you have to go on the first floor for it where the Thyme Restuarant is also located. The Staff did try to help but they didn’t speak very good english, making bad grammar mistakes. I liked how the room had Freeview TV with Channels like BBC1, ITV and Challenge however one thing I did not like about the Television was how quiet it was, the volume would not go any higher than 20 meaning it was very quiet. I understand it needs to be quiet for guests but this is too quiet even if you are standing right in front of it. The Television was actually a good size. The Premier Inn Breakfast was £8.75 a day, for a cooked all you can eat breakfast, they had Twinings flavoured tea bags which was nice to see as Im a big fan of the company. I was told they had Gluten Free bread on the menu only for the first day to not have any in and be told I should of requested it on arrival, I got it the 2nd and 3rd days, the 2nd it tasted homemade and crusty bread and very nice for Gluten free, the 3rd day was a not so nice seeded loaf. As I said in this review, the staff didn’t speak very good english so it was really hard to explain how I needed them to toast my Gluten Free bread in a Toaster away from where everyone else toasts their normal bread. After speaking to 3 staff on the 2nd day, I originally got it, My server understood on the 3rd day and done it for me straight away. Premier Inns Breakfast is a buffet with things alreadymade but you do have to request Poached Eggs, Omelettes and Vegetarian Sausage. I was angry that the chef could not tell me if the Hash Browns were Gluten Free or not. They is also a wide range of fruit juice, which is satisfactory, I would of prefered freshly squeezed juices on offer instead of normal Cranberry, Apple and Orange Juice. I have not really got much more to say about this hotel, Despite these negatives I would reccomened it to anyone visiting London, it is right next to East Croydon station where a 15 minute train into London Victoria can be got, with the price and it being that close to Central London, it is rather a steal despite the many things wrong with this hotel.
