Homebase

Homebase was half empty when I popped in, there were empty shelves and it didn’t seem all that promising, but they did actually have everything on my decorating list, the full range of top brands at least (didn’t have much discount stuff). Every single member of staff that I spoke to while trying to find things was without exception helpful and friendly. I was very impressed.

Well, um, I actually had a pretty nice little Saturday… I zipped over to Homebase, Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I don’t know, I don’t know if I’ll have enough time…
Seriously, I had the most domestic weekend I’ve had in ages; comprising of a trip to Costco, Homebase, (i.e. home depot) ASDA (i.e. Walmart) and PC World, (i.e. Best Buy).
Luckily if you find yourself down in Croydon… RUN. No. I mean rather, if you find yourself down in Croydon, you have a mile of domestic goodness where you can knock out all of your home needs in one shot. No macabre pun intended.
Homebase was a perfect stop as I needed paint (check) cleaning supplies (check) a mop (check) blinking net lights (check) nails (check) a lamp shade (check) and trash bags. No frills, no gimmicks, just an easy little home and hardware store for all of those exciting Saturday needs.
If any of you are legit enough to remember a little place called ERNST, this store is an exact replica. Minus the free popcorn.
