Lovely pub! We went for a family dinner one night whilst on a camping holiday. The menu looked a little on the expensive side which I always find a gamble as there are so many places charging gastro pub prices for run of the mill food. Anyhow, the place itself is big and airy and tastefully decorated. It has quite a large, walled and secure beer garden with enough things for the kids to play on to keep them happy. It was spotlessly clean and the staff are good fun and friendly. There is a good selection of beers and ales, my wife had a couple of pints of some of the local ales and she loved them. For meals we had quite a varied selection from rib-eye steak to fish and chips. The food was beautifully presented and all of our meals were exceptionally good. They have a nice little touch with their chips you can have them fried in rape seed oil or beef dripping, I opted for the beef dripping and they were superb chips it has to be said. Also the menu was good it was not over extensive but it had a great variation of dishes on it and there were a few fab looking specials on the board inside. All in all the venue, food and general ambiance is 5 stars in my book and we will go back to this place again next time we are in the area.

We had a very enjoyable night at the White Horse in Oversteand. Friendly service, lovely dinner, drink selection, comfortable bed, modern shower and delicious breakfast… My only criticism would be the art in the dinning room and lounge. Trying to be so inoffensive, it’s actually offensive! Love to see some of the fabulous local artists’ work featured… Add personality to the place and help some of the brilliant Norfolk artists!

I was recommended this place by a colleague who lives in the area — it’s not that easy to find and I’m not sure I would have chanced it if we had happened to drive by. But get past the rather dated exterior and walk through the bar and there is a rather good restaurant at the back serving good, well-made pubby food with a touch of flair. My plaice goujons were delicious and accompanied by a wonderful take on mushy peas — the peas were fresh and had then been blitzed with cream and fresh mint. The bread for my wife’s smoked salmon sandwich was home made and wonderful. Good beers, too — definitely worth seeking out.
