Our food was a long time coming, cold and very poor quality, the pub wasn’t busy and we had pre booked so not sure why, very few staff, only one seemed to be working, the only place for the high chair, on the table we were allocated was right next to the kitchen door, so hot (in some cases!) food was being carried very close to baby’s head!, yet there were other tables available, however later customers who had ordered the same as us, were served with piping hot food and plenty of it! 2 desserts on the menu had not been available for ages (waitress said) all in all very disappointing

Very poor food it arrived cold and the tables are simply too close together. This place used to be excellent I remember when you’d get a bowl of cauliflower cheese, chips and something like sauté potatoes with an excellent main and the waitresses were beautiful. What ever happened?

Billing itself as a restaurant with an a la carte menu the Vine Tree promises to be a nice venue.
Service was friendly but that can not make up for the poor quality of the food.
The food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and when it my friends burgers were not cooked and still pink in the middle, the chips served were also undercooked. I had the nut roast — which was a very small portion, covered in cheese and had been microwaved at some point (note to people who work in kitchens — cheese once melted does not microwave very well).
All in all very dissapointing — with hindsight our packed lunches in the rain would have been a better option.
