Bliss and wonderful and utterly marvellous. I took my teenage daughter here as a treat after exams and we had a thoroughly brilliant time. Very relaxing without being intimidating. It was my daughter’s first experience of a spa but her therapist put her at ease with her friendly chat. My therapist Sarah gave me a Brush With Heaven that I will never forget and will never be beaten as a pampering. I had to stop myself nodding off several times! The pools at the Spa are clean & luxurious. The changing room had GHD straighteners and all the products you can think of. Some of the showers have body bars seek them out. The restaurant was informal, but the service and food exemplary. I had Rose Veal and daughter had Fish and Chips the best she’d ever had. Our meal started with a complimentary Amuse Bouche. Daughter had Scotch Egg for a starter and I had Gazpacho, yummy and scrummy. And then we shared a bowl of ice cream. The waiter took the rest of our wine up to our room and refused to take a tip how unusual is that?! We were upgraded and had the Rochester room, with sumptuous décor and linens, freestanding bath, mahoosive shower, luxe toiletries and the most comfy bed ever. I want to do it all again now. But may well regret taking Daughter there as she now wants to have her wedding there!(Who to, who knows ;-)) I’d better start saving!

I have just come back from Alexander House Hotel in Turners Hill. My husband and I went as an anniversary treat for one night. This is a luxury 4 star spa hotel. I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and I was very impressed by this one. Roaring fireplaces in the hotel‘s South drawing room, bar and library are all places you can enjoy a drink, afternoon tea and read a newspaper. The building has grounds you can meander in and country walk is easily accessible a short distance from the hotel. Although we didn’t get any treatments at the spa it was comforting to see it busy with many therapists attending and very positive and relaxed clients lounging around the free tea and coffee station, Jacuzzi and pool area. I really liked the outdoor Jacuzzi which made me sigh in bliss when I could hear the birds singing around me while viewing the countryside in the tub. Our room was a junior suite. A free standing bath, twin sinks and enormous walk in shower was exquisite and luxurious. All I could say was WOW! I got a very reasonable dinner, bed and breakfast rate and use of the spa thrown in. I booked this directly online on the hotel website. We checked out at 11:00 and could use the spa till 3:00 then had afternoon tea afterwards. Very civilized.

This place is straight out of my dreams. I stayed for three nights a little while ago and can’t wait to go back. One of the mornings, I woke up early to take a jog. I ran through fields, over wooden fences, across misty meadows… and as I was running up a grassy hill and the fog parted… there was a UNICORN… well…I thought it was a unicorn but it was just a noble grey steed hanging out at 6 am. He let me pet him and then I was on my way. I tried to make my boyfriend jealous with my «unicorn» tale but he spent that entire day fully wrapped in a comfy white robe with clotted cream and scones in his mustache. The spa is awesome, the food tasty and there are so many options of rooms(both vintage and modern)…anyone would be happy here!

I spent 3 nights here, but 2 nights would have worked out perfectly too if you’re pressed for time. This place was the absolute highlight of my trip to England! Again, I suggest at least two nights. It’s the perfect amount of time to truly relax and take in the countryside. Reflections restaurant — 5 out of 5 stars. I loved my meal and service was very friendly. White chicken in Mustard Sauce with gratin and asparagus and for dessert the raspberry crème brûlée. BOTHDELICIOUS. My boyfriend got the Sea Bass, and while it was yummy we didn’t realize it was served as a salad and so it definitely was not filling enough for him. The spa accommodations — 5 out of 5 stars. Excellent. We got a couples massage, leg and foot treatments, used the pool, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. Not only was the service wonderful, but the grounds are beautiful. We had the outdoor jacuzzi all to ourselves, pristine, symmetrical landscaping surrounding us, slightly drizzling outside making the heat of the jacuzzi all the more relaxing, beautiful 3 story architecture around us. It was unforgettable. Our room — 3 out of 5 stars. Pleasant. Our $ 200/night room was much more spacious than the $ 6005 star room we stayed in while in London. The only reason I give it a 3 instead of a 4 is because I prefer a firm bed, and our bed was too soft. Otherwise, I liked the separate shower and bath tub. Note — If nightlife is important, make sure you schedule your stay between Th and Saturday. We didn’t which was fine with us, but according to the cab drivers, High Street, which is a 15 minute cab ride away, is lively and really the only nearby place to go.
