my new local. since moving house i will often be seen sitting next to the fire or in the beer garden. i admit it is rather pricey but it has a lovely atmosphere which more than makes up for it. food is delicious and there is a good selection of real ales.

A lovely cosy pub with a good atmosphere an a varied menu. The food tastes good and it is a good place to have an uninterrupted conversation. It has a bit of an old world feel without blasting music and drunk teenagers. On the down side, it can be a bit dark inside and although it is family friendly, there are no kids play facilities. But is is a nice pleasant pub and very clean.

Cosy pub with a nice atmosphere. Not much choice on the menu for vegetarians! Staff nice, though.

Sat in the cosy tucked away alcove bit(on two tables of four joined together), I was enjoying my pint of Staropramen on this sunny Sunday afternoon browsing the menu. Rarely these days do I find myself struggling to spot a vegetarian option. The only proper main vegetarian option was sweet potato and spinach lasagne which is all very well and good if you like lasagne. The houmous stuffed pepper looked ok but that was a starter and was only available on weekdays. So I hummed and harred and eventually gave in to opting for the Buffallo Mozzerlla and tomato salad at £7.95. I then ordered some garlic bread on the side. So the rest of the table ordered their meaty treats and seemed satisfied while I sat there saying, oh my god, I have had better salads for 1⁄3 of the price of this one. Maybe vegetarians reading this will sympathise? Maybe salad snobs would have spat out what they were passing off as mozzerella? or maybe I should just stick with drinking Staropramen and quietly disappear into the corner The dessert was a warm chocolate fudge brownie and it was perfect. The staff tolerated personal questions well and the place was friendly enough.

The Snowy Owl is a classy pub(well if you can call it a pub). This is more of a restaurant than a pub as it consists of mainly tables, does not hold a pool table or a single bandit machine. The menu is limited and very overpriced, this is accompanied by the drink prices and slightly snobby staff. If you like to let your hair down then this isn’t the place for you. However, if prefer the quiet, respectful meal or breakaway then this is the place for you as long as you don’t mind paying for it. I must admit the food is good, but this is not a child friendly pub menu or environment wise.

Good food with expensive beer. Staff are nice and friendly. Not many facilities.
